Hiya. I'm Jack (he/she), I'm a 19 year old from South-East Missouri. I'm a huge fan of music, movies, games, and horror. That's about as vague I can be without delving deep into each subject. This site is sort of a simple way for me to chatter into the void since I lack the connections to talk to people about such subjects. You'll find most of this may linger towards music, horror, and other mysteries such as lost media or early internet phenomena. Hopefully I am able to keep this site updated and interesting. Keep in mind that the primative look is due to my poor CSS skills as well as wanting to keep an authentic Geocities (now Neocities) feel! Feel free to look around or give me a shout!
About
I'm 19 years old, pansexual, and genderfluid (pronouns he/him and she/her). Currently I am obtaining my Associates degree in community college and I am planning to move up to getting my Bachelor's in Audio Production. Music has been a huge part of my life. I play guitar and keyboard and have recently started playing in a grunge cover band named The Project. My biggest musical influences are Jack White, J. Mascis, David Bowie, and Jack Stauber. I've always loved music but it has taken me a while to find what fit me the best; over the past year I have really gravitated towards noise rock, blues, and grunge with Dinosaur Jr., The Pixies, and The White Stripes being my most listened to artists.
Movies as well have also been a big part of my life with much of my free time in the past spent watching horror movies as I have watched a plethora of films from disturbing to mundane. The best ones I have seen over the past few years have been the Guinea Pig series, Weapons, and Killing Spree. I have collected horror movies in the past but recently slowed down and focused on music as my main hobby.
Music Specs
I love music but I also love trinkets and knowing what other people have/use! So I thought it would be fun to make a post about my music specs. This isn't everything just the stuff I find most important!
Guitars
I use two main guitars; one in standard tuning and one in half step tuning. Of course, I change the tunings when needed but that's obvious. My standard tuning is a black Jackson Dinky with humbucker pickups and a 2-point fulcrum tremolo bridge/whammy bar. My half-step is a Leo Jaymz SG with two humbucker pickups and a three way tone switch. Both of these guitars offset each other with the Dinky being more lowkey and unassuming and the SG colorful and individualistic. It's a fun way to add my individuality to my guitars.
Amps
Amps are a much more boring subject when regarding what I own. I have two main amps: a Fender Frontman 20G which is used for at home playing and a Marshall Origin 20w tube head and 160w cabinet for live playing. While both sound good, I do prefer the sound of the Marshall set as it has so much more depth and feel.
Misc.
I love fun little random things for my guitars since they make me feel more individualistic. I have a Dunlop Rev. Willy ceramic slide, a D'Addario adjustable capo, and I use Dunlop Tortex picks (1.0mm). I have plenty of different guitar straps for different styles. My Dinky dons a great strap with black stars for that Y2K aesthetic. My SG has a purple Dinosaur Jr. strap that fits the individuality of the guitar, the noise rock style, and the stickers on the guitar. My bass has a beige leather strap with cats on it to help with the hefty weight of the bass. My old Dunlop has a Hello Kitty strap, and finally my acoustic has a strap with skulls.
